Our Essential Movie is a free shortie:  “Ensuring the future of food”.  Back in the old days, it was perfectly normal to trust the total stranger who runs the supermarket to make sure you and your loved ones had a safe supply of food.  Nowadays, though, we’re all going to have to take a bit more responsibility.  Here’s everything you need to know – in Japanese! Our Essential Link is The Community Solution.  Check out the presentation from their recent “Plan C” conference, and if you haven’t watched their movie about how Cuba survived peak oil, order the DVD right away!  It’s a must-see, and an excellent date movie.  (Make your move when they talk about planting food in used tires.)

Our Action o’ the Week?  Buy vintage clothing!  The clothing industry has a Sasquatch-sized carbon footprint, and your local thrift store is full of retro gems at a tenth of the price.  Used is the new New!
